Policies protecting those reporting discrimination

To protect gender equality in the workplace, and in line with the spirit of the Constitution to eliminate gender discrimination and promote substantive gender equality, the Government enacted the Gender Equality in Employment Act, which provides for the prevention and treatment of sexual harassment in Chapter 3, as well as remedies and procedures for filing complaints in Chapter 5. The Act stipulates that an employer shall be liable to pay compensation to an employee or job seeker who suffers damages due to the employer's violation of the rules and that an employee or job seeker who has suffered a breach of the rules may also seek appropriate penalties to restore his/her honour. If his/her reputation is infringed upon, he/she may also request appropriate punishment to restore his/her reputation.

Following the above laws, the University has established Article 7 of the ‘Measures for the Prevention, Complaint and Handling of Sexual Harassment in the Workplace’, Article 48 of the ‘Work Rules for Personnel Applying the Labour Standards’, and the ‘Measures for the Prevention of Gender-based Incidents on Campus’, which provide a channel for complaints of discrimination.
